An art and book event celebrating the life and work of one of New Zealand’s most iconic artists: 2pm, Saturday 18 November 2023, Te Kahu o Waipuna atrium.
Marlborough Art Gallery and Library is hosting the Marlborough launch of the richly illustrated publication, 'Don Binney: Flight Path' by Gregory O’Brien. The book will be launched by its author with renowned New Zealand artists and Binney commentators, Dame Robin White and Sir Grahame Sydney.
Gregory O’Brien has curated a special Don Binney: Flight Path exhibition (on at Marlborough Art Gallery until 26 November) which honours Binney's connection with Marlborough.

Hear about what shaped Rita Angus’ unique vision in association with the exhibition, Rita Angus: New Zealand Modernist, developed and toured by Te Papa Tongarewa.
Rita Angus, one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most iconic 20th century artists, has an important place in our collective imagination. Hers was an Antipodean take on international modernism.
Join us to celebrate her work and life in a talk with exhibition curator, Lizzie Bisley.
Lizzie Bisley is Museum of Te Papa Tongarewa’s curator of modern art. She specialises in modern art and design, particularly from the years between 1920 and 1950.
