About the exhibition

Brian Badcock is a well-known New Zealand painter who has earned national and international recognition. He has painted for more than 30 years in various locations throughout New Zealand and Asia. A constant experimenter with method and process, Brian produces work which is individual and fresh. He specialises in painting "on site" and his richly coloured canvases capture the Marlborough environment. Brian is the son of Kelliher award winning artist Douglas Badcock 1922-2009 who was also a plein-air painter.

This exhibition includes artworks painted at various Marlborough locations: Waihopai Valley (Stronvar and Glazebrook Stations), Awatere and Wairau Valleys and the Marlborough Sounds.
