About the exhibition
O’Kane asks us to examine where the boundary lies between real and artificial. The role of play takes centre stage in this work, and has enabled O’Kane to create a playground of altered time and scale.
Mike O’Kane has a fine arts degree from the Dunedin School of Art, Otago Polytechnic, where he majored in sculpture in 1997, with photography as his sub-major. For several years after graduating, he lectured part-time at the Dunedin School of Art, and School of Design. He is based in Dunedin and has exhibited throughout New Zealand.
