A key priority of the Millennium Public Art Gallery is to encourage a sense of community ownership.
The Gallery has an important educational role in providing an appreciation and understanding of historical and contemporary art.
We encourage groups from school classes to retirement clubs, to come and learn more about our exhibitions. For many students a visit to this Gallery will their first, and we want that experience to be memorable. We also develop partnership projects with artists and schools and community groups involving art outside the Gallery. The includes off-site exhibitions, artist visits and public art projects.
